 09.26.09 - 3rd Annual Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Planting - Sponsored by Houston Parks Dept.  Fun had by young and old.  Looking forward to the flowers in the spring.

 03.17.09 - Park Cleanup BIG Success - College students on Spring Break helped local neighbors and friends of the park take a lot of trash out of the park. 

 03.05.09 - 2009 Spring General Meeting - We had an informative meeting.  Attendees learned a lot about Hermann Park as well as updates on Willow Waterhole.  A new WWGC board was elected.

 02.11.09 - Bird Watching and Park Cleanup - Hurricane Ike left his imprint on the park and so we will be having a cleanup on February 21st from 10 am to noon.  But it won’t be all work….this is the third Saturday of the month and that means the Houston Audubon monthly bird survey will be starting at 8 am. So come out early if you would like to do a little bird spotting…48 species were seen last month including our first  Northern Harrier. Then join the cleanup fun at 10 am. 

Park along Ricecrest and meet at “Stonehenge”.   Wear comfortable clothing, a hat if you want, and gloves. We will provide plastic trash bags and water.

 03.29.07 - Spring Delegate Meeting -
Completed annual election of officers, HCFCD gave an update on Project Brays and Willow Waterhole, and a guest speaker told us the inspiring story about the Freshwater Tidal Marsh Project at Mason Park.

  Thanks to all who participated.  The event was a great success

 12.15.05 - New Memorial to remember John H. "Jack" Rafferty, the engineer who crafted a flood control master plan for Houston more than 60 years ago.
